We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to provide support and care to young people in our residential care homes.

About the Role

This is a hands-on Permanent or Casual position, supporting the day-to-day running of the house with domestic duties and various activities in line with the young people's care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and assist young people to achieve goals identified in their individualised care plans.
  • Support young people to develop independence and build community connections.
  • Engage with young people in activities that promote their interests and well-being.
  • Establish strong relationships with young people and work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Manage challenging behaviours and support young people to regulate their emotions.
  • Contribute to domestic duties and support young people to learn life skills.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team and report incidents promptly and accurately.

Candidates will need experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and neglect, including the management of concerning behaviours. A current Provide First Aid Certificate and a valid Driver's Licence are also required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma and neglect.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and de-escalate situations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people's growth and development.
