Fruit and Nut Farm Worker Job Description

At DUONG NGUYEN FARM, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fruit and Nut Farm Worker to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a key role in our farm's operations. As a Fruit and Nut Farm Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of crop production, from planting to harvesting, and ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the production of exotic fruit crops, including mangoes, rambutans, guavas, and jackfruits.
  • Coordinate cultivating, fertilizing, and watering to maintain optimal production and fruit tree health.
  • Organize farming operations and routines, such as picking, storing, grading, and packaging fruit.
  • Direct and oversee general farming activities to maintain plant health by managing biosecurity and other risks and controlling pests and weeds.
  • Plan and oversee the provision and maintenance of infrastructure, such as equipment and irrigation systems.
  • Maintain records of farming activities.
  • Select, train, and supervise staff and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on, practical, and efficient experience in commercial irrigated fruit farming operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in workforce planning.
  • High standards of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and a tertiary qualification in agriculture or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of best practices for cropping and a proactive approach to modern farming techniques.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position based in the Northern Territory, with a salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 per annum.
