Senior Packaging Designer and Estimator

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise and creative flair to drive innovative packaging solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our team and contribute to the success of our business by designing product packaging and basic graphics for visualisation and concept presentations, as well as products for custom applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing product packaging and basic graphics for visualisation and concept presentations, as well as products for custom applications.
  • Supporting the creation of product illustrations, concept sketches, diagrams, design specifications and technical drawings (die lines).
  • Evaluating design ideas with consideration of appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications.
  • Providing day-to-day quoting support to sales team members.
  • Contributing and participating in the tender process from initial quoting through to commercial analysis.
  • Identifying cost savings opportunities on new and existing materials to improve customer margin.
  • Leading project work that requires quoting, costing and onboarding of customers.

Requirements:

  • Packaging design and estimating experience.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate creative ideas via concept sketching or verbal presentations.
  • A good understanding of 3-dimensional form and space.
  • Ability to prepare accurate technical specifications (e.g. die lines) for quotation & manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD programs to create models & renderings.
  • Ability to build physical models and prototypes to bring creative concepts to life.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise with good time & project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
