This role plays a vital part in ensuring that Child Protection practitioners working with Aboriginal children have the necessary cultural expertise and guidance to support their work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining relationships with Aboriginal children, families, Elders, Foster and Kinship carers, and other stakeholders to achieve best outcomes
  • Collaborating with community services organisations to improve the lives of Aboriginal children and families
  • Providing advice on cultural plans and self-determination reforms
Key Deliverables:
  • Culturally sensitive solutions for Aboriginal children and families
  • Improved collaboration between community services organisations
  • Alignment of area improvement and implementation processes to relevant divisional policies

In this role, you will be responsible for sharing your knowledge with Aboriginal families and stakeholders to promote shared understanding and timely action. Your key goal will be to provide advice on cultural plans and self-determination reforms for Aboriginal children and families.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people. You should have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and the issues affecting Aboriginal children and families.
