Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Traffic and Transport to join our team at the City of Vincent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the design, development, and implementation of traffic and transport projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead a team and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans for traffic and transport projects.
  • Investigating and reporting on community-raised traffic issues, determining appropriate treatments.
  • Providing expert advice and input for City Council meetings regarding traffic and safety requirements.
  • Conducting warrant assessments using the City's traffic management intervention criteria.
  • Identifying, investigating, and preparing submissions for Black Spot Program funding.
  • Reviewing development applications and Traffic Impact Assessment reports to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Leading and mentoring a team to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.
  • Collaborating with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to address transportation challenges.
  • Conducting traffic studies, analysing data, and recommending forward-thinking solutions.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage complex projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A current WA 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
