Overview

The City of Vincent is seeking a skilled Principal Engineer - Traffic and Transport to lead the design, development, and implementation of traffic and transport projects. This role requires a strong background in traffic engineering and transportation planning, with the ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Develop and implement strategic plans for traffic and transport projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
  • Investigate and Report on Traffic Issues: Investigate and report on community-raised traffic issues, determining appropriate treatments and solutions.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Provide expert advice and input for City Council meetings regarding traffic and safety requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Conduct Warrant Assessments: Conduct warrant assessments using the City's traffic management intervention criteria, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to address transportation challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Lead and mentor a team to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Current WA 'C' Class Driver's License.
