Job Title: Inventory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Inventory Specialist.

The role of the Inventory Specialist is a critical component of our Defence team, responsible for managing key inventory functions to ensure optimal stock levels and maintain the integrity of our inventory catalogue.

This position involves overseeing the entire inventory management process within the Defence ERP system, generating requisitions and transfers, and liaising with the Joint Logistics Unit to drive efficient inventory management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring data quality and monitoring key performance metrics, including Nil Stock on Hand and Outstanding Requisitions.

Additionally, this role will involve identifying and managing inventory risks, while ensuring that commercial risks are mitigated in line with Defence due diligence requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key inventory functions to ensure optimal stock levels and maintain the integrity of our inventory catalogue.
  • Oversee the entire inventory management process within the Defence ERP system.
  • Generate requisitions and transfers, and liaise with the Joint Logistics Unit to drive efficient inventory management.
  • Ensure data quality and monitor key performance metrics, including Nil Stock on Hand and Outstanding Requisitions.
  • Identify and manage inventory risks, while ensuring that commercial risks are mitigated in line with Defence due diligence requirements.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain and/or Logistics, Engineering or other applicable technical fields or suitable experience that provides similar competencies.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Defence ERP experience with learned competencies comprising of the following:
    • Integrated Logistics Support Officer
    • Advanced Inventory Management
    • Cataloguer
    • SPO Inventory Controller
    • MILIS Reporting
  • Military Logistics experience gained working within Defence or the Australian Public Service.
