Legal Support Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant to join our Public Liability team based in Melbourne CBD.

This role offers the chance to work closely with experienced public liability lawyers on a diverse range of public liability matters, from complex claims to unique legal challenges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing matters for conference and hearing, including preparation of court and legal documents and general correspondence.

You will also use your high attention to detail to draft briefs and documents, such as claim forms and schedule of damages.

Furthermore, you will efficiently coordinate medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations.

Cultivating strong relationships with clients, employees, Counsel and other external stakeholders is an essential part of this role.

Supporting our Legal team with optimising the use of internal systems to process information is also a key responsibility.

About You

  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal across personal injury cases is highly regarded.
  • Accurate typing skills with intermediate Word & Excel skills are required.
  • A keen eye for detail in document management and collation skills are essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • An appreciation of your role as the gateway to supporting our clients is important.
  • The ability to work Monday - Friday, 38 hours per week is preferred.
