Overview:

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Animal Management Officer to join their team on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality services related to animal management and compliance with laws, ensuring the overall safety and well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigation and Response: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents involving animals, assess risks to public health, and handle animal captures and impounds as necessary.
  • Evidence Collection: Gather factual evidence for compliance, including conducting property history checks.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records in corporate systems, issue compliance notices, and manage court orders related to animal management.
  • Customer Service: Provide high-quality service to stakeholders, promote responsible pet ownership, and effectively communicate with the community.
  • Teamwork and Development: Foster a collaborative team environment, support continuous improvement, and mentor new staff while adhering to council standards and health and safety protocols.

Essential Requirements:

  • Prior experience or thorough knowledge of animal husbandry and animal control.
  • Ability to work with animals of all behavior types, including anxious and aggressive animals, in a confident and safe manner.
  • Capacity to conduct inspections and investigations to achieve successful outcomes per relevant laws and policies.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work independently, prioritizing workloads to ensure timely customer outcomes and legislative compliance.
