Wall and Floor Tiler

We are seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to fill a position in our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure surfaces to be tiled, following design plans.
  • Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Install and anchor fixtures in designated positions using hand tools.
  • Mix and apply mortar or cement to edges and ends of drain tiles to seal halves and joints.
  • Prepare and apply tile adhesives, position the tile and press or tap with trowel handle to affix tile to base.
  • Install tile in a planned area and arrange tiles per design plans.
  • Determine and implement the best layout to achieve a desired pattern.
  • Align and straighten tile using levels, squares and straightedges.
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs.
  • Apply grout with a rubber trowel.
  • Clean and level the surface to be tiled. Remove any old tile, grout and adhesive using chisels and scrapers and clean the surface carefully.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tile.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling.
  • At least 2-3 years relevant experience as a Wall & Floor Tiler.

Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure seamless interaction with colleagues and management. A high degree of physical fitness is also essential for this role due to the manual labor involved.
