Project Director - Optimization Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the development and delivery of various civil, processing, and plant optimization projects at our Honeymoon mine site. As a key member of our team, you will design and execute operational improvement projects in accordance with site standards and approved KPIs.

Through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, external design consultants, and construction contractors, you will lead your team to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.

You will proactively manage the project lifecycle, including design, execution, commissioning, handover, and ramp-up phases, ensuring safety, cost, schedule, quality, and operational readiness.

In this role, you will be directly accountable for:

  • Managing multiple small-to-medium-sized projects through their entire lifecycle.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, standards, and site requirements.
  • Providing input into strategic plans, budgets, and targets, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Delivering regular project progress reports to key stakeholders.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal operational discipline and establishing routines for efficient project delivery.
  • C coordinating operational readiness requirements with procurement and site teams.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in project management, preferably in a mining or operational environment.
  • Significant experience delivering projects with CAPEX up to $5 million.
  • Proven ability to lead small teams and manage external engineering design and construction contractors.
  • A strong systems approach to planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with contemporary project management tools and methodologies.
  • Practical experience in all aspects of the project management lifecycle, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure.
  • A resilient approach and ability to work in a challenging environment.
  • A drive to achieve KPIs and meet committed deadlines.
  • A tertiary qualification in mining, processing, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

While not essential, we highly regard candidates with:

  • Sound knowledge of uranium mining and processing.
  • Experience working in the South Australian regulatory jurisdiction.
