Diesel Engine Mechanic Role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our team and contribute to the maintenance of top-tier diesel engines and heavy machinery.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our Maintenance Supervisor to deliver high-quality solutions and results, focusing on servicing, repair, and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment in accordance with relevant documentation.

  • Perform routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance tasks as directed to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and take corrective action to prevent downtime.
  • Source technical information from relevant manuals, bulletins, OEM systems, and other resources to inform maintenance decisions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to good housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices in maintenance and repair techniques.
Requirements for Success
  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or equivalent qualification.
  • Post-trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry, with a focus on General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Component Change Outs, and Servicing of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Liebherr and CAT Heavy Earth Moving Equipment, with a strong understanding of their operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures, including those related to confined space entry, electrical safety, and hazardous materials handling.
