Category Specialist Role Overview

This role involves identifying and leveraging direct supply channels from domestic and international markets, as well as assisting with managing the MRO supply chain life cycle from sourcing, negotiation, contract management, supplier performance management, risk management, category management, and fulfillment.

This is a Monday to Friday office-based position in Brisbane with 2 days/week working from home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage category supply and contracts across asset maintenance, construction, and major works
  • Nurture individual stakeholder and vendor relationships; visit suppliers, stakeholders, and sites as required
  • Procure 'fit for purpose' goods and services at the right price/value/quality/time from reputable suppliers
  • Assist in developing and applying best practice systems for the supply chain including freight forwarding, shipping, warehousing, courier management, inventory management, reporting, shipment tracking visibility, and KPIs
  • Undertake supply market research, competitor assessments, market, and technology trend analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling for tender documentation, post-tender analysis, logistics costs, and other cost/volume modeling
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or commerce (preferred)
  • Supply chain experience across multiple categories of spend with a focus on maintenance, repairs, and operations
  • Previous experience in a corporate environment dealing with complex organizational structures
  • Experience in the hospitality or facilities management industry, particularly in remote locations (an advantage)
