Position Overview:

Category Specialist – Maintenance, Repairs and Operations (MRO)

This role is responsible for identifying and tapping into direct supply channels from domestic and international markets and assisting with managing the MRO supply chain life cycle from sourcing, negotiation, contract management, supplier performance management, risk management, category management and fulfilment as delegated by Category Manager.

This is a Monday to Friday Brisbane office-based position with 2 days/week WFH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category supply and contract management across Asset Maintenance, Construction and Major Works
  • Individual stakeholder and vendor relationship management; visit suppliers, stakeholders and sites as required.
  • Process 'fit for purpose' goods and services at the right price/value/quality/time from reputable diligent suppliers.
  • Assist in the development of and apply best practice systems for the supply chain including freight forwarding, shipping, warehousing, courier management, inventory management, reporting, shipment tracking visibility and KPI's.
  • Undertake supply market research, competitor assessments, market and technology trends.
    Financial analysis and modelling for tender documentation, post tender analysis, logistics costs and other cost/volume modelling as required.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business / commerce preferred, not essential.

Experience:

  • Supply chain experience across multiple categories of spend with a focus on Maintenance, Repairs and Operations.
  • Previous experience in a corporate environment dealing with complex organisational structures.
  • Experience in the hospitality or facilities management industry particularly in remote locations an advantage.

  • Professional customer service attitude
