About this role

This position plays a vital part in enhancing network security and improving maturity and capabilities. The goal is to maintain and develop related security standards and processes, ensuring the effective health monitoring and control of our cyber infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of network security infrastructure.
  • Participating in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful and secure deployment across infrastructure.

We're seeking individuals with passion and drive for cybersecurity certified network security or equivalent knowledge. A tertiary qualification or certification in cybersecurity products is also highly valued. Minimum 2 years' experience with network security technologies is essential, as well as an understanding of zero-trust security models and cloud security frameworks.

Required skills:

  • Strong knowledge of network security concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Proxy, Firewall rules).
  • Understanding of various cyber threats, vulnerabilities, risk assessment techniques, and respective mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with cloud security, network security, and large COTS product architecture.

Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls is preferred, along with configuration and management expertise in Panorama, Global Protect, and Wild Fire.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in a 24x7 on-call roster and have Aus Check certification.
