Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging, multimedia content for television, radio, and online platforms
  • Break stories of national importance and develop original content that is distinctive and audience-focused
  • Lead insightful and well-informed coverage of federal politics, including high-quality live reports and complex Q&As
  • Spearhead editorial initiatives to enhance ABC's profile and audience engagement

Requirements:

  • Extensive senior reporting experience with exceptional journalistic skills and sound research and editorial judgment
  • Proven ability to consistently break original stories and develop compelling content
  • Exceptional government contacts and a deep understanding of federal politics, parliamentary procedures, and policy
  • Excellent multimedia presentation and production skills, including high-level TV writing and live presenting skills
  • Thorough understanding of digital news and cross-platform filing
