Project Financial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to oversee the financial management of a landmark construction project in Western Australia. This role is critical to ensuring financial discipline and operational efficiency across the development of this exciting project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning: Lead the financial planning process for the full duration of the project, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and report on cash flow vs actuals, ensuring financial alignment with project milestones.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present weekly cashflow reports and monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports to senior stakeholders.
Cost Control & Analysis
  • Cost Control Systems: Implement robust cost control systems to track and manage project expenditures.
  • Contractor and Supplier Management: Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices, progress claims, and variations.
  • Monthly Cost Reviews: Conduct monthly cost reviews and provide insights to support financial decision-making.
  • Subcontractor Agreements: Manage financial aspects of 12-15 subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Vendor Performance: Oversee vendor performance and payment schedules, maintaining strong relationships and accountability.
  • Procurement Activities: Support procurement activities with financial analysis and contract evaluation.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and external contractors to ensure financial transparency.
  • Liaison: Liaise with internal finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting across all phases of the project.
Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Chartered Accountant preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in financial management or cost control.
  • Project Experience: Proven experience managing budgets and financial reporting for large-scale construction projects.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of financial systems, cost codes, and subcontractor agreements.
