About the Role

The Contracts Manager will work closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Manager to ensure effective administration of upstream contracts. This role requires strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage and interpret contracts.

You will be responsible for assessing and managing commercial and contractual risks, negotiating subcontract and supplier contract terms, and leading scope of works planning. Additionally, you will maintain good working relationships with stakeholders and provide clear, concise advice to project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial and contractual risks to identify and implement controls, escalating actual or potential issues.
  • Administer upstream contracts to ensure responsibilities and obligations are met, protecting UGL's rights and interests.
  • Negotiate subcontract and supplier contract terms, ensuring execution according to negotiated terms.
  • Lead scope of works planning to minimize scope gaps and maximize cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and monitor market conditions.
  • Provide clear advice to project teams on upstream contractual rights and obligations.
What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Infrastructure/Construction sector.
  • Tertiary education in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage and interpret contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
