About the Opportunity

UGL is currently seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team in the Rail & Technology Systems sector. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a vital part in the upstream commercial relationship with our client.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing commercial and contractual risks, negotiating subcontract and supplier contract terms, and leading scope of works planning. Additionally, you will maintain good working relationships with stakeholders and provide clear, concise advice to project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage commercial and contractual risks, identifying and implementing appropriate controls.
  • Administer upstream contracts to ensure responsibilities and obligations are met, protecting UGL's rights and interests.
  • Negotiate subcontract and supplier contract terms, ensuring execution according to negotiated terms.
  • Lead scope of works planning to minimize scope gaps and maximize cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and monitor market conditions.
  • Provide clear advice to project teams on upstream contractual rights and obligations.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Infrastructure/Construction sector.
  • Tertiary education in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage and interpret contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
