Education Engagement Specialist

The role of Student Support Officer involves working with students, families, schools and the wider community to improve education outcomes for students.
This includes liaising with school leadership and support teams to identify students who have or are at risk of disengaging from education, developing an engagement plan, conducting home visits, and connecting young people and families to relevant supports.
- Liaise with school leaders and support teams to identify students who are at risk of disengaging from education
- Work collaboratively to develop a comprehensive engagement plan
- Conduct regular home visits to work with families to identify barriers to school attendance and facilitate re-engagement
- Connect students and families to appropriate school-based and community-based supports
As a key contact for students, families and community members regarding educational engagement, this position will also involve working within a team-based case management approach.
Required Skills and Qualifications:The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and part of a team.
Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable children and young people is essential, as is the ability to build and sustain positive relationships with students, parents and community agencies.
A strong understanding of the issues affecting student engagement is also required, along with the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to address these challenges.
