Environmental Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our NSW team based in Sydney & Newcastle. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in supporting our growth in the impact assessment and renewables industries.
Key Responsibilities- Project manage and deliver environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, specifically flora and fauna, biodiversity and habitat;
- Assist in and supervise field surveys including terrestrial flora and fauna;
- Production of high-quality technical reports;
- Identify issues and problems and develop & deliver appropriate solutions
- Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or related field;
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in either an environmental consultancy or the public sector including undertaking ecological/environmental surveys and report production;
- Understanding and application of all relevant legislation that underpins ecological projects;
- High level flora and fauna identification skills;
- Ability to use information technology including Microsoft office software and appropriate field equipment;
- Experience working with a wide range of environmental planning projects;
- Solid report writing skills;
- Comprehensive interpersonal and relationship building skills;
- Driver's licence essential, 4wd experience and accreditation preferable;
- Project management skills preferred but not essential; and
- Flexibility to travel for field work
