Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Planner to join our team at DCL Recruitment. As a Senior Supply Chain Planner, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small team of junior supply planners in a complex apparel business dealing with high numbers of SKUs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement and creation of purchase orders for various brands
  • Create purchase orders to meet requirements and lead times
  • Liaise with vendors and planning teams on the status of orders
  • Work with freight forwarders to ensure all purchase orders are in their system and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor inbound shipments with freight forwarders and suppliers
  • Look for consolidation opportunities, including vessel capacity and schedules
  • Ensure pricing, duty, commissions, and royalties are correct on all purchase orders shipped
  • Monitor and review shipping conditions
  • Communicate regularly with planning teams on any delays
  • Coordinate with warehouses and third-party logistics providers to schedule inbound deliveries
  • Ensure delivery receipt according to agreed schedules
  • Check pricing issues, raise credits prior to customs clearance
  • Track sales samples and promotional materials, including goods receipt and billing
  • Run reports in SAP to identify issues and resolve

Requirements

  • Knowledge of SAP is essential
  • Experience in apparel, pharmaceutical, or grocery industries
  • Must have worked with a high number of SKUs (1000s)
  • Understanding of international trade and logistics practices, including documentation, free trade agreements, and certificates of origin
  • Experience in purchase order creation from factory pickup to container/international hub to vessel to forwarder to warehouse
  • Customer-focused with sound problem-solving and time management skills
  • Adaptable and willing to learn with high attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
