Heavy Rail Facilities Manager


About the Role

This is a leadership opportunity to oversee strategic asset management of heavy rail facilities and property. You will develop, maintain, and improve plans for asset management, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.

You will provide assurance that maintenance, operational performance meet rigorous requirements supporting long-term reliability and sustainability of NSW's heavy rail infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accuracy, compliance, and currency of Asset Register across asset class.
  • Analyse data, assess risks, evaluate costs, and consult stakeholders to prepare business cases, reports, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop integrated investment plans aligned with infrastructure strategies, system reliability, and funding considerations.
  • Lead creation and delivery of Transport Asset Management Strategic Assets and Services Plans (TAM SASP) and Asset and Services Plans (TAM ASP).
  • Provide technical assurance on safety, environmental, maintenance, and operational performance.
  • Evaluate opportunities for asset improvements including technology adoptions, upgrades, renewals, and divestments to optimize lifecycle value.
  • Participate in governance approving changes in program intent related to acquisition, sustainment, renewal, and divestment activities.

Requirements
  • Extensive experience in strategic asset management within heavy rail or transport infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, business case development, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to lead integrated investment planning and deliver complex asset management plans.
  • Deep understanding of asset lifecycle management, safety, environmental compliance, and governance.
  • Capacity to influence senior leaders and manage multiple priorities in dynamic environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, asset management, or related fields highly desirable.
