About the Role

We are seeking an experienced energy professional to join our team as a Principal Energy Markets Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in the energy transition space.

In this role, you will play a key part in developing and executing growth strategies that expand our Energy Markets Advisory offerings across the Asia Pacific region. You will leverage your technical expertise and commercial acumen to lead high-impact client projects, foster innovation in the energy landscape, and drive business growth.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing the development and execution of commercial proposals focused on the energy transition across the Asia Pacific region.">
  • Identifying, securing, and delivering strategic advisory projects in the energy markets space and energy transition services.">
  • Collaborating with our team of engineers, economists, and data analysts to solve techno-economic challenges in the future power sector.">
  • Conducting technical and market due diligence assignments, bridging our world-class technical teams with economic modelling experts.">
  • Undertaking policy studies and applying economic theory to energy markets.">
  • Providing technical expertise in areas such as market studies, cost-benefit analysis, and energy policy.">
  • Mentoring and developing team capabilities.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">

A relevant tertiary degree in economics, mathematics, statistics/data science, operations research, or engineering.

">

Proven experience in energy market advisory roles, ideally in a consulting environment.

">

Strong quantitative modelling skills and research abilities.

">

Expertise in energy/regulatory frameworks applicable to power generation and distribution.

">

Deep understanding of power plant technologies (wind, solar, battery, gas turbine), including performance parameters and cost structures.

">

Knowledge of related industries and technologies such as natural gas, liquid/low-carbon fuels, and electricity transmission.

Fostering positive communication, articulating complex problems, and using sound commercial acumen to enable a solution-focused approach.
