Job Summary

The Disaster Management Support Officer is a critical role within the Disaster Management Branch of SA Health. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing operational support and administrative services to ensure the effective management of disasters and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Planning and Management: Develop and implement operational plans, manage human resource administration, and prepare briefings, letters, and reports for the Disaster Management Branch.
  • Business Support and Coordination: Facilitate and coordinate the provision of professional and confidential business support to the Disaster Management Branch.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support and executive officer support to various committees as required.
  • System Administration: Ensure access to and administration of operational disaster management systems, including ICT applications, distribution lists, rosters, and building accesses.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and lead continuous improvement initiatives in key branch operational processes and administrative systems.
  • Correspondence and Reporting: Draft workforce and organization structure-related correspondence for senior management.
  • Project and Investigative Work: Undertake project and investigative work as required.
  • Incident Support: Provide business administrative support to incidents or emergencies under the direction of the incident manager or commander.
Requirements
  • A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
  • Immunisation requirements may apply.
  • The incumbent may be required to participate in an after-hours on-call roster and undertake out-of-hours work.
  • Intrastate/interstate travel may be required.
  • Appointment is subject to immunisation risk category requirements.
