Metering Engineer

AusNet Services is seeking a highly skilled Metering Engineer to join our Metering Engineering Team in Yarraville, Victoria. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing all planned calibration and testing activities, conducting diagnostic testing, calibration, and reporting to both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory diagnostic testing and calibration of energy metering test equipment and related measurement equipment used in High Voltage environments.
- Test portable metering equipment to ensure compliance with various Australian standards.
- Prepare technical reports to the required accreditation levels.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is traceable to NMI/NATA and registered in Calnet/test equipment database.
- Liaise with internal and external customers regarding services provided by the team.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and expanding laboratory testing processes, procedures, and methods for the group.
- Work in accordance with OH&S laws and company policies.
- Understand and implement 17025 requirements.
- Assist in organizing freight for all test equipment.
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification with relevant electrical calibration and technical knowledge.
- Knowledge of transmission and/or distribution network compliance equipment testing methodologies.
- Relevant qualifications and/or applied experience in electrical testing.
- Experience in testing electrical equipment, including current transformers, voltage transformers, secondary equipment, bridges, and burden boxes.
- Exposure to setting up test equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in failure analysis and identifying methods to resolve.
- Understanding of NATA's role in the electrical testing environment.
