Job Description

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Building Services Engineer include planning and coordinating services consultants and trades for a new project.

  • Manage building services engineering design to ensure that emerging documentation meets required specifications, cost budgets, and program timelines for construction and installation.
  • Coordinate building services engineering consultants and subcontractors as appointed.
  • In conjunction with the Contracts Administrator, identify applicable cost savings and assist with product selection and problem solving to achieve best value for money.
  • Review all documentation for adequacy of design input.
  • Progressively monitor the production of workshop drawings and as-built documents.
  • Monitor progress and quality of construction and plant installation on site, ensuring compliance with quality control, engineering, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in handover and commissioning of the project including submission of final documentation, as-built documents, authority approvals, warranties, training, and guarantees.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The incumbent in this role must possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Experience in coordinating Mechanical and/or Electrical design, construction, and installation activities on building projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the external and internal business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.
