Inventory Management Specialist

Job Description:

The Inventory Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in leading and delivering efficient inventory processes. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

  • Taking initiative, problem-solving, and adapting quickly are essential skills for this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage inventory and process stock receiving data
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, including negative reports and below-cost issues
  • Process stock journals and raise purchase orders
  • Coordinate with transport and warehouse teams for incoming and outgoing goods
  • Manage local, interstate, and imported stock deliveries — track and reconcile all movements
  • Liaise with Customer Service and external suppliers to resolve inventory queries
  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Lead stocktakes across weekly, monthly, and yearly cycles
  • Maintain accurate records and update vendor accounts and pricing in the accounting system
  • Support management and other departments with inventory-related reporting and processes
Requirements:
  • Previous inventory control or stock management experience (construction industry experience ideal but not essential)
  • Background in accounts or bookkeeping
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management
  • Confidence communicating with both internal teams and external suppliers
