Geotechnical Engineer Role

The South Australia Road Infrastructure Project is an ambitious undertaking that showcases the importance of collaborative teamwork and forward-thinking engineering expertise.

Our project involves the development of a non-stop, 78 km traffic light-free motorway that will have a lasting impact on the community. This significant infrastructure project requires a high level of technical expertise to ensure its successful completion.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support in geotechnical analysis, design, and construction. Your role will involve working closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver practical solutions that manage risks effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Geotechnical Analysis: Conducting detailed analyses of stability, settlement, seepage, and foundation design to inform decision-making.
  • Technical Reports: Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Site Investigations: Overseeing site investigations and interpreting field and laboratory test results to inform design decisions.
  • Geotechnical Performance: Monitoring geotechnical performance during construction and supporting the implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring all geotechnical work complies with legislative, environmental, and project-specific safety requirements.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist.
  • Experience in onsite project management of subsurface and groundwater investigations.
  • Skilled in logging pile, excavation, and drilling soil samples, as well as conducting groundwater assessments.
  • Proficient in calculating and assessing ground bearing pressures for various plant and structures.
  • Ability to assess and review geotechnical design drawings and technical reports.
  • Knowledge of contamination assessment for soil and groundwater.
