Painter/Decorator

We are seeking a skilled Painter/Decorator to prepare surfaces and apply paint, decorative, and protective systems on commercial and residential work sites.

  • Preparation of interior walls, doors, windows, and ceilings prior to painting.
  • Application of paint, decorative finishes, and protective coatings.
  • Preparation of rooms to protect furniture, floors, and other items surrounding the area to be painted.
  • Protect all close furnishings and materials before and during every painting job.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Complete inductions before commencing on sites.
  • Ensure compliance with WH&S and site regulations.
  • Conduct quality and safety inspections.
  • Read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
  • Monitor stock of materials and notify site supervisor in advance.
  • Complete record-keeping forms and submit to the administration team.
  • Attend site meetings.
  • Discuss color patterns and finish options with customers.
  • Painting interior and exterior of houses.
  • Match paint samples for touch-ups and small projects.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in painting/trade work.
  • 1 year of commercial experience.
  • Venetian plastering and wallpaper skills.
