Job Title:

Facilities and Grounds Assistant

About the Role:

This role involves performing various tasks such as minor building maintenance, relocating school furniture and equipment, maintaining lawns, gardens, and school surrounds using appropriate tools and machinery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Performing tasks such as blowing, water blasting, spraying and general upkeep of hard surfaces and outdoor areas
  • Daily collection of rubbish and waste management
  • Reporting maintenance issues, vandalism or damage promptly
Key Requirements:
  • Adequate physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
  • Experience using hand tools, green-keeping equipment, and small power tools
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles
  • A proactive and reliable attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Selection Criteria:

The successful applicants will be responsible for supporting safe work practices in line with school policies and WHS standards. Applicants must hold a valid Working with Children Blue Card prior to commencement.
