This accounting position is focused on managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring payroll compliance and providing timely task completion with clear communication to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping: Reconcile accounts, manage accounts payable and receivable, verify source documents and prepare BAS and IAS statements.
  • Payroll: Oversee payroll processes, interpret awards and legislation and act as a point of contact for complex payroll queries. Troubleshoot discrepancies, manage compliance and ensure Fair Work, superannuation and payroll tax obligations are met.

We seek a dedicated professional to support the financial health of clients in an accounting practice. This role requires strong bookkeeping certification, working knowledge of Xero Practice Manager, Xero Client Ledger, MYOB and MS Office, along with experience in payroll compliance, award interpretation and Fair Work regulations.

Requirements:
  • Bookkeeping certification (TAFE or equivalent) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and a proactive approach to process improvements.
