We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Specialist to provide operational support in the management of records and information functions.
- The Records and Information Team is responsible for providing operational support to the organisation in the management of Council's records management functions, including document registration, access and retrieval of corporate information, and supporting end users in the optimal use of Document Management System.
Detailed Job Overview
- The successful candidate will undertake detailed analysis of data management requirements across all systems, platforms, and applications to enable the development and implementation of data management solutions in line with legislative requirements and organisational strategies.
- A critical part of this role will involve comprehensive stakeholder engagement and consultation across the organisation to ensure that data quality meets regulatory requirements and is reliable, accurate, and accessible to inform decision making as required and support organisational information management strategies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience with Electronic Records Management technologies and information classification schemes including their development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Advanced ability to research, analyse and recommend improvements to the organisation's use of software applications.
- Demonstrated system administration skills in an Electronic Document and Records Management System environment and integrated corporate systems.
- Demonstrated experience in translating legislation and policies into sound data management practices to meet legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in providing responsive and proactive customer service support to end users.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally as well as a high level of reading and comprehension of technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitating change management processes to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Project management and consulting skills such as interviewing stakeholders, conducting architecture reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and establish effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and representatives of other agencies.
- Demonstrated experience in developing training material and delivering courses.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of data management principles and practices.
- Proven experience in Electronic Records Management technologies and information classification schemes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.

This role offers:
- A temporary full-time position up to 6 months (potential to extend for another 6 months), working 35 hours per week.
