Opportunity Overview
This is an opportunity to contribute to projects of national significance in the maritime industry. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for providing and supporting the design of vessels from concept through to delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing accurate information and documentation meeting all procedural and auditable requirements;
- Ensuring vessel design complies with relevant regulatory authorities, specifications, and customer requirements;
- Maintaining a high level of attention to detail to minimize rework and ensure consistency across deliverables;
- Managing and incorporating design inputs from third parties, including drawings, certifications, and manuals;
- Monitoring task schedules and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality;
- Providing technical support as required across design and production teams.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Formal drafting qualifications or equivalent;
- Proficient in drafting software, including AutoCAD and Shipconstructor, and Microsoft Office;
- Basic understanding of materials and their compatibility in a marine environment;
- Skilled in 3D modelling.
