The company is seeking a dedicated GIS professional to join their Information Technology team in Western Sydney HQ.

This role will be critical in providing support to the GIS Manager in the development of their Vegetation Asset Management system.

It is a 6-month contract with a possibility of extension.

About You

  • You have a Diploma in Spatial Science (minimum) or a Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or GIS.
  • You have extensive experience developing web mapping applications using multiple GIS technologies like GeoServer, ESRI, and ArcGIS.
  • You have strong back-end .NET and/or Java development skills.
  • You can code and script with OpenLayers, JavaScript, Python, AngularJS, CSS, HTML5, XML, JSON, and SQL.
  • You have demonstrated experience working with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server Spatial databases.
  • You have experience with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
  • You can interpret and edit geospatial vector data.
  • You can interpret and manipulate geospatial imagery data.
  • You can process and interpret LiDAR data.
  • You understand geodetic datums and map projections.
  • You have experience working with the business to identify operational requirements for integration to developed systems.

You should demonstrate a 'Can Do' attitude and be committed to achieving operational excellence through technology utilisation.

You should be passionate about GIS technologies and willing to deliver solutions in a niche business market.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
