Signalling Application Data Engineer

About the Role:

The Signalling Application Data Engineer is a pivotal position in our organisation, responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective strategies for configuring application data associated with signalling infrastructure.

This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to develop and implement cost-effective strategies for configuring application data associated with signalling infrastructure.
  • Analyse identified signalling data and associated systems issues to drive process improvements.
  • Define engineering requirements for railway signalling solutions that meet industry standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to define interfaces between signalling systems and components.
  • Participate in the integration of signalling systems, components, and design solutions to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of signals and communications infrastructure standards, technical maintenance plans, service schedules, and inspection and test plans.
  • Undertake Type Approval submissions for signalling-related equipment and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science Engineering, or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering suitable for membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Eagerness to explore emerging technologies and contribute to R&D initiatives.
  • Experience in railway signalling, including knowledge of technical standards, system specifications, and engineering practices.
  • A genuine passion and interest in emerging railway signalling technologies.
