We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Accounts Officer to join our team at Harrison McMillan. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of invoices, statements, and debt collection efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the invoicing process, ensuring accurate and timely issuance of statements. Investigate and resolve any issues with outstanding payments.
- Monitor outstanding debts and implement effective debt collection strategies to ensure timely payments from clients.
- Collaborate with engineers to track and monitor Work in Progress (WIP) reports, ensuring jobs are invoiced correctly and promptly.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders, providing clear and concise financial updates and resolving any issues promptly.
- Maintain a well-organized and efficient finance department, ensuring all financial records are up to date and easily accessible.
- Assist with general administrative duties, including answering phones, managing office supplies, and supporting other departments as needed.
- Utilize Excel and Word to create, manage, and analyze reports, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Proven experience in a finance role, preferably within a professional services or consultancy environment.
- Strong experience with invoicing, statements, and debt collection.
- Proficient in Xero with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience working with WIP reports and holding team members accountable for their financial responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
