HSEQ Compliance Specialist

At Duratec Australia, we are seeking a highly skilled HSEQ Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support for HSEQ compliance, management plans, and procedures across a range of construction and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Advise and educate teams on legislative requirements, promoting a culture of safety and risk management.
  • Process incident and hazard reports, conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive a safe and healthy work environment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular HSEQ site inspections and audits, pre-start meetings, and toolbox meetings to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate HESQ training programs, ensuring all personnel are properly trained and equipped to manage risks and hazards.
  • Analyze HSEQ performance, reporting, and system updates to inform strategic decisions and drive business improvement.
  • Maintain the Company Integrated Management System, ensuring it remains effective and efficient in supporting business operations.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience leading HSEQ in construction and remediation works, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a similar discipline.
  • Working knowledge of HSEQ practices, including risk management, incident investigation, and compliance.
  • Investigation qualification and experience are highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in positively influencing, developing, and maintaining site relationships, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Self-manage workload to ensure efficiency and a positive team environment, with a focus on prioritization and deadline management.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with prioritization and deadline management skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Understanding of Quality Management processes, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
