Job Title: Kiln Car Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to assist with the upkeep and maintenance of kiln cars at our facility.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent welding or bricklaying skills and be able to perform routine inspections, clean, and replace blocks as needed. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the kiln cars are in good working condition at all times.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily routine inspections of all kiln cars to identify any issues or damage.
  • Perform regular block alignment and replacement on kiln cars as part of our ongoing maintenance program.
  • Inspect and maintain seals on both the front and back of kiln cars.
  • Identify and report any damage or defects found during inspections.
  • Assist in completing full car rebuilds, including tasks such as:
    • Stripping old materials and replacing them with new ones.
    • Installing materials like Castable and Cal-Sil boards, Vermiculite, Kao Wool, and Scoria.
    • Installing blocks according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks on all completed kiln car repairs to ensure they meet our high standards.

Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential. Bricklaying or welding experience is preferred. A trade qualification is also preferred but not necessary. Experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Strong commitment to following company policies and safety procedures is expected. Ability to perform housekeeping and routine cleaning of the work area is required.
