A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Senior Dementia Care Specialist to join HammondCare's Dementia Centre team on a Fixed Term Full-Time Contract until June 2026 at our Perth office.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving change and delivering Australian Government funded dementia behaviour support services nationwide. You will apply your expertise in assessment and biopsychosocial approaches, implementing practical, innovative and non-pharmacological strategies to prevent, minimise or respond to changes in behaviour related to dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dementia-specific behaviour management recommendations over the phone, via live chat and through phone support case management.
  • Offer expert advice to reduce the impact of behaviours on people living with dementia, their carers and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and teams to provide information and data which reports statistics and information collected regarding calls and live chat.
  • Effectively manage customer complaints or challenging situations as they arise, with early notification to the Team Leader when necessary.
  • Implement service improvement solutions across the phone and live chat team consistently and efficiently.
  • Be flexible to work across a variety of shifts throughout the week.

What We Need from You:

  • Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
  • High level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Empathy and patience.
  • Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health highly desirable.
