We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Career Development Specialist. This exciting role will see you work closely with individuals to help them achieve their career goals and aspirations.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for providing tailored support and guidance to clients, helping them to explore their strengths and interests, and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their chosen career.
  • You will work collaboratively with employers to understand their business needs and identify opportunities for employment and career development.
  • You will also be responsible for developing and implementing effective employment plans, working closely with clients to set and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To source and create career opportunities for clients, matching them to suitable and sustainable roles.
  2. To champion inclusive employment and workforce diversity, focusing on people with disability, injury or health condition.
  3. To engage and work alongside employers to address skill shortages through role carving and inclusive recruitment.
  4. To broker work experience to build participant skills and assess employer/client compatibility.
  5. To prepare workplaces to support and retain participants via adjustments and disability confidence training.
  6. To facilitate employer training to boost disability awareness and inclusion
  7. To build employer and community networks to create job opportunities
  8. To promote your organisation as a trusted provider supporting people with disability to achieve career goals.
  9. To meet or exceed internal and external performance benchmarks.
  10. To champion your organisation's values of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred practice.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Employment or Human Services – desirable
  • Proven ability to meet KPIs and manage workload effectively
  • Strong understanding of employment barriers faced by people with disability, injury, or health conditions
  • Skilled in providing tailored support and developing client-focused employment plans
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Current Driver's License - essential
