Job Title: HR Manager

Join the BBC Group and Public Services team as an HR Manager, responsible for managing the day-to-day HR function and providing generalist advice and support on all HR/employee-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert input and advice across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, talent management, pay review, performance, goal setting, parental leave, hybrid working, and employee relations.
  • Coach and build the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organizational issues and drive a high-performance culture.
  • Interpret and apply Fair Work legislation and Awards to ensure compliance, effectively address workplace issues, and provide strategic advice on employment matters to safeguard legal and regulatory adherence.
  • Manage and provide expert strategic and people-centered advice to resolve complex and high-risk conduct performance cases or employee/workplace relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Drive consistency of approach across the BBC to attract, manage, and develop talent to support current and future organizational needs.
  • Oversee key HR Operations processes, such as monthly payroll and global annual processes, supported by the HR Coordinator.
  • Localize Global BBC Studios initiatives or programs for the ANZ office and effectively coordinate and deliver impactful People programs to drive employee engagement.
  • Contribute to and define policies and processes that support the business strategy and objectives aligned to wider BBC Studios policies.
  • Manage WHS obligations, as well as Workers Compensation and Return To Work programs.
  • Lead on developing ANZ-specific D&I and Wellbeing activities in line with the wider company strategy.
  • Effectively lead the HR Coordinator to support them in providing a first-class HR service to the ANZ business.
Requirements:
  • Experience influencing and coaching executives/senior managers.
  • Experience of delivering HR processes, initiatives, and services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with a variety of contacts; strong influencing and persuading skills.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to resolve logistically complex problems.
  • Knowledge of employment law and policies, generalist human resources trends, best practice, and future directions.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects internationally.
  • Management, leadership, and team-building skills.
Working Relationships:
  • Daily contact with SVP, People and Transformation APAC, HR Coordinator, managers, and employees.
  • Weekly/fortnightly contact with Australia Leadership Team.
  • Weekly/fortnightly communication with the global HR team to maintain strong relationships, sharing best practice and experience.
  • Be an approachable point of contact for external HR contacts.
