Job Overview

This role will focus on providing specialized training and assessment services to Toll drivers, ensuring they meet the required standards and competencies. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing our business driver training strategy, which encompasses risk management, quality assurance, HSE, and human resource management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training Delivery: Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to support the delivery of Toll Group's driver training initiatives. This includes group and one-on-one training sessions as needed.
  • Assessment and Coaching: Assess driver competencies during pre-employment checks and re-assess current drivers to ensure compliance with business requirements and standards. Prepare individual driver assessment reports and provide follow-up coaching.
  • Daily Operations Support: Coach drivers to perform work processes safely and efficiently, adhering to company procedures and legislation.
  • Training Planning: Collaborate with Training Managers to plan and coordinate training requirements and activities, including annual forward planning and monthly communication with operations teams.
  • Training Material Development: Work with Toll Group Operations Training to design and develop high-quality driver training materials aligned with learning methodologies.
  • Mandatory Training Compliance: Ensure all mandatory training requirements are met within the business, including effective document control and quality records management.
Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma: Hold a Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possess a Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (preferably MC), DG licence, current SSAN (Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate), and MSIC (Maritime Security Identity Card).
  • Knowledge and Experience: Demonstrate knowledge of HV mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint, road transport rules and regulations, as well as experience as a skilled and competent driver/MHE operator and trainer/assessor.
  • Safety Focus: Emphasize a can-do approach towards driver safety, coaching, and risk reduction.
  • Technical Skills: Showcase intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate the ability to review training and assessment effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
