Clinical Leader for Birth Suite and Neonatal Intensive Care

The birth suite and neonatal intensive care units are looking for a clinical leader who can optimize patient safety, quality of care, and experience. The role involves leadership and management of the department/unit to achieve operational efficiency and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor standards of service and practice against benchmark targets, including nurse-sensitive indicators, incident management system data, clinical indicator results, and patient, doctor, and caregiver satisfaction results. Develop and implement responses where benchmarks are not met.
- Support and participate in accreditation processes and regulatory assessments, as well as group-wide and divisional quality and clinical risk management programs.
- Foster a clinical culture of interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.
- Engage patients and consumers in relevant planning and decision-making processes.
- Work clinically within the department as required, to support caregivers and medical officers, ensuring safe, person-centered care.
- Manage financial resources effectively, monitoring productivity, activity, and utilization in line with performance targets.
- Develop and implement a workforce model that enables quality care to be maintained, along with implementing appropriate levels of workforce skills.
- Manage human resources cost-effectively, particularly 'on-call', overtime, and rostering practices in accordance with enterprise agreements.
- Review payroll and personnel data to manage absenteeism, agency utilization, and leave entitlements to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and implement a recruitment, retention, and succession plan to achieve skill mix profile and FTE requirements.
You will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse/Midwife. You will demonstrate advanced relevant clinical skills and management experience in a senior nursing position in an acute hospital facility.
