**Role Overview**

We are seeking a professional to join the School of Biomedical Sciences as a Coordinator for Indigenous Genomics. This is an identified position open to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.

The role requires a person who can demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, leadership, and interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a jurisdictional node to support development of a National Roadmap for implementation of Pharmacogenomics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Ensure key deliverables, including establishment of local Indigenous governance structures; consultation, engagement, and involvement of partners and stakeholders; participation in national network activities; developing and coordinating workforce development initiatives with stakeholders; and supporting the development of local and national Indigenous genomic policies.
Requirements
  • Education training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in an area such as business administration, project management, biomedical science, public or population health, research, policy, and/or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander studies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, peoples, families, communities, service providers, and organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting or supporting research involving Aboriginal and/or Torres people, peoples, and communities.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and skills, including financial/budget management.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience and expertise; particularly in relation to working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and their interests.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, and experience working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander interests and stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic, operational, and organisational management skills, including demonstrated ability to set goals, identify priorities, and meet deadlines.
