Job Title: Heritage and Policy Officer

This role involves contributing to the Australian Government's heritage agenda, which includes identifying and assessing places for inclusion in the World, National and Commonwealth Heritage Lists.

The successful candidate will develop and implement policies and strategies related to heritage, helping to protect and promote identified natural, First Nations and other cultural heritage values of listed places.

Key responsibilities include working with First Nations people, state governments, place managers and various stakeholders to identify, assess, protect, manage and promote the heritage values of listed places.

A key aspect of this role is providing advice on heritage impacts of proposed developments and engaging in routine administrative and corporate activities.

To succeed in this position, applicants should have knowledge and experience in heritage-related disciplines, first nations engagement experience, policy and strategy development and implementation experience, project management experience or relevant Australian Public Service experience.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of heritage concepts and practices, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
