Job Description:

Overview

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor role is a leadership position that oversees all aspects of workplace health, safety, wellbeing, and return to work planning.

This critical role requires you to partner with leaders, employees, and external providers to foster a positive safety culture, strengthen resilience, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Risk management and mitigation to prevent workplace incidents.
  • Develop and implement WHS training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Consult with employees and stakeholders to address their concerns and needs.
  • Conduct thorough accident investigations and incident reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on key health and safety metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage injury cases, workers' compensation claims, and return to work programs to minimize downtime and promote employee recovery.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or a related field.
  • Experience working in a WHS role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in injury management, workers' compensation legislation, and legal requirements.
  • Strong understanding of incident investigation principles and experience conducting investigations.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and coach employees, including contractors.
  • Experience performing risk assessments and hazard management.
  • Excellent written communication skills to produce high-quality reports.
  • Basic to intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
