Data Analyst Lead

Rest is one of Australia's largest profit-to-member superannuation funds, with nearly two million members and $86 billion in funds under management.
We're seeking an experienced Data Analyst Lead to join our performance reporting team, responsible for measuring and reporting the performance of our multiple investment strategies. This role will focus on building a robust operating framework, including people, processes, and systems, to enable accurate and timely performance reporting.
The successful candidate will oversee the operations of the team, providing guidance, training, and technical support to junior analysts. They will contribute subject matter expertise to broader organisational initiatives and lead team-based projects.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality performance reports to external stakeholders, including regulators, survey/ratings houses, and internal member communications teams.
- Proactively monitor regulatory developments related to Rest's published performance results and produce associated commentary and analysis.
- Develop and maintain the Whole of Fund attribution model, provide training, and ensure accuracy.
- Identify sources of outperformance or underperformance and provide insights to key stakeholders.
- Oversight of daily performance reporting provided by Rest's custodian, ensuring service levels and deliverables meet expectations.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Mathematics, Information Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Fluency in FactSet and Whole of Fund attribution models based on notional exposure of derivatives.
- CIPM, CAIA, and CFA certifications are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in analytics, risk, or performance reporting functions within investment organisations or related organisations.
- Knowledge of standard performance calculation methodologies, including unit price, time-weighted, and money-weighted methods.
- Knowledge of standard derivative financial instruments used in portfolio construction and their impact on Whole of Fund Performance.
- Ability to interpret performance attribution results and communicate them effectively to portfolio managers and senior investment team members.
- A competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
