We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team in Cracow, Poland. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting our projects for the US-based insurance market.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution: Participate in the execution and development of analysis project plans for timely project completion under supervision.
- Model Development: Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to create high-performing models that comply with regulatory and privacy requirements and address business objectives and client needs.
- Result Validation: Ensure statistical, computational, and algorithmic validity of results.
- Data Analysis: Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and complex business problems by utilizing statistical, mathematical, and machine-learning techniques.
- Collaboration: Work with other technical teams and business units for Research & Development, and delivery of solution.
- Project Support: Provide required support for project delivery and implementation.
- Documentation: Create clear and easy-to-understand documents for product support (technical).
- Communication: Present analysis ideas, progress reports, and results to internal stakeholders & project managers.
- Technical Development: Collaborate with Lead or Principal Data Scientist to develop technical approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
- Professional Development: Demonstrate an ability to keep up to date with emerging methods and environments.
- Education: Graduate-level degree with a concentration in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, computer science, or an aligned discipline.
- Skills: Skilled with feature engineering, model selection, and assessment methodologies, and familiarity with all stages of the data science pipeline.
- Knowledge: Knowledge in & applied experience with statistical and machine learning.
- Experience: Practical experience using statistical and machine learning computer languages (e.g. R, Python & SQL).
- Language: English at least at B2 level (spoken and written).
- Cloud Computing: Working familiarity with cloud computing environments (AWS preferred).
- Problem-Solving: Logical, evidence-based problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Work Arrangement: Willingness to work as a full-time employee in a hybrid model from the Cracow-based office.
- Insurance Experience: Insurance experience, focusing on personal lines, commercial lines, underwriting, or related business content would be a strong asset.
- Technical Skills: Practical experience in creating unit tests in Python, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and working with ETL pipelines.
