**Preadmission Liaison Nurse Role Summary**Preadmission liaison nurses play a vital role in ensuring the smooth transition of patients from admission to surgery. They collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient education, support and coordinate care to achieve the best possible outcomes.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced preadmission nurse to join our surgical access office. As a key member of the team, you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in people's lives and contribute to the future of healthcare.Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide patient education and support during the pre-operative period.
  • Take a lead role in coordinating care provided by the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcome for every patient on the planned surgery list.
  • Continually strive to improve the service we provide to both our patients and the health service, by adhering to Planned Surgery Access Policy.
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience and knowledge of hospital Patient Administration Systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office literacy.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with strong patient focus.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements:
  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
